Katrina holds General Registration and is a Board Approved Supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA). Katrina is able to provide Medicare-subsidised treatment for clients referred under a valid mental health care plan or chronic disease management plan, as well as through private health insurance, and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) self-managed funds.
Katrina Wallace is a dedicated Registered Psychologist who brings a blend of educational and psychological expertise. She earned a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Newcastle in 2012 and has accumulated clinical experience across various environments, including mental health wards, private practices, and return-to-work programs.
Functioning as an eclectic therapist, Katrina tailors a range of modalities to meet each client's specific needs. Her approach integrates methods from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), client-focused therapy, Mindfulness, trauma-informed therapy, attachment theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She places significant emphasis on the therapeutic alliance and adjusts her methods to cater to individual client needs.
Motivated by a keen interest in the impact of adverse life events on mental and physical well-being, Katrina focuses on neuropsychology and neuroscience. She addresses a wide array of issues such as anxiety, depression, chronic health conditions, complex trauma, and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).
In her personal life, Katrina maintains a balanced lifestyle by participating in activities like spending quality time with her dog Charlie, staying physically active, hiking, and enjoying beach visits. She is an advocate of early intervention, mental health awareness, and advocating for holistic lifestyle choices to enhance mental well-being.
