Child Therapy
Every child deserves to feel safe, understood, and supported as they learn about themselves and the world around them.
Children don’t always have the words to explain how they’re feeling. Instead, they often communicate through behaviour, play, relationships, and emotions. At Maple Psychology, we take the time to understand what children are communicating beneath the surface rather than focusing only on the behaviour itself.
Our psychologists create warm, engaging therapy sessions where children can build emotional awareness, confidence, resilience, and practical coping skills through developmentally appropriate activities. Depending on your child’s age and interests, sessions may include games, play, art, storytelling, movement, problem-solving activities, and conversations.
We believe that behaviour is communication. Rather than asking “How do we stop this behaviour?” we ask “What is this child trying to tell us?” This compassionate approach helps us understand the underlying emotions, needs, and experiences driving behaviour.
Parents and caregivers play an important role in the therapeutic process. We work collaboratively with families to provide practical strategies that can be used at home and in everyday life, helping create consistency and confidence beyond the therapy room.
